Our Story

Where Curiosity Meets the Cretaceous

Dino Discovery was born from a simple belief: the best way to spark a love of science is to put a fossil in a child's hands.

Our Mission

Making Paleontology Personal

We travel to schools, libraries, and community events to deliver live, hands-on educational experiences about dinosaurs, prehistoric life, and the science of paleontology.

Every presentation is designed to meet students where they are — whether that's a kindergarten classroom or a high school science lab — and leave them with a genuine sense of wonder about the natural world.

Hands-On Learning

Real fossils, real replicas, real science. We believe learning sticks when kids can touch and explore.

Curriculum-Aligned

Every show is designed to complement science standards, making it easy for teachers to integrate into their lessons.

Accessible Wonder

We bring the museum experience to communities that may not have easy access to natural history institutions.

Meet the Presenter

Dr. Alex Mercer

Paleontologist & Lead Educator

With over 15 years of field experience and a doctorate in vertebrate paleontology, Dr. Alex Mercer has participated in excavations across North America, Mongolia, and Patagonia — unearthing some of the most significant dinosaur finds of the past decade.

But it's in the classroom where Alex truly comes alive. Known for infectious enthusiasm and a gift for making complex science accessible, Dr. Mercer has delivered Dino Discovery presentations to over 50,000 students across 300+ schools and museums.

What Makes Us Different

Not a Slideshow. An Expedition.

01

Real Fossils You Can Touch

We bring a curated collection of authentic fossils — ammonites, shark teeth, dinosaur bone fragments — that students handle under guided supervision.

02

Life-Size Skeleton Replicas

Our articulated replica bones give students a true sense of scale. Standing next to a T. rex femur is something you never forget.

03

Tailored to Your Audience

From kindergarten to adult learners, every presentation is adapted to the age, curriculum, and curiosity level of the group.

04

Interactive from Start to Finish

No passive watching. Students participate in fossil identification, geological timeline activities, and open Q&A throughout.
